Knowledge Transfer

Tuesday, July 17, 2007

Statscan released the latest Canadian Census numbers yesterday.

And, as has been repeatedly talked about, the country is aging.

Aside from the social impact this aging causes, there are tremendous remifications in the business world as well.

According to lead analyst Laurent Martel, in an article in the Globe and Mail:

Employers will also need to figure out how to make sure the knowledge accumulated by older workers can be adequately transferred to the next generation, especially as baby boomers near retirement.

Therefore, if your organization is planning on surviving this "changing of the guard" you'd better find a way of facilitating the transfer of knowledge as quickly as possible.
